Frequently Asked Questions about Store Savings Cards
Q: Can a savings card, such as a Kroger Plus Card, be used in conjunction with a University purchase?
From OSU Business and Finance: If we can document a good business purpose for the expenditure, and we have a reasonable basis for buying from that store (location, convenience and price would count as factors), then grocery savings cards can be used, on an occasional basis, without concern about the perks.
From CFAES: If the individual will be regularly purchasing from vendors with a savings program for business use then a separate card for work use is required. The perks can be used to reduce the costs for business travel (ex. gas perks). It is up to the employee making those purchases to track business expenses on a different card and use those perks for business use.
